Disclaimer:
This is just how I personally do things.
This is also the long version.
This is not my quick omg I am suuuuper running late to work makeup.
ALSO, the beautyblender®, Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer, and Smashbox 15h Wear Hydrating Foundation
were all purchased to meet certain needs.
I am generally a powder foundation kinda gal.
I am oily af, live in an almost always humid climate, and generally lean towards products with spf.
The Smashbox foundation I purchased is waterproof, humidity proof and sweat proof.
So basically I deem it '#HoustonProof.'
I tested it out along with some #MUF waterproof eye shadow and brow cream and Sephora waterproof eye make up sticks and they truly lasted. The only product that really came off was the powder I used to finish. But that was more or less anticipated.
Below is my 'Before'

Below is my 'Before'
I have had my girls ask me to do their makeup.
Girls who, to me, seem very polished and definitely do not need assistance from a n00b such as myself!
I have yet to do a proper video, due to the ancient technology in our humble abode, but that will soon change!
So, without further ado, let's begin!
pictures and no words lol
PS FIRST STEP
WASH FACE
pat dry
Apply toner (if you have any - currently I am out D:)
I have been using a rose balm in the absence of toner.
Previously I had been using a rose mist as a toner AND setting spray.
For me, it was working. I have had yet to go back to get a new spray bottle... and this new H mart location off of Bellaire/Beltway 8 is REALLY LACKING as far as supply of beauty products. There are no refills for shampoo or conditioner and the shampoos and conditioners I DO SEE are American brands. I came to HMART for the stuff I CAN'T GET in America #Murica.
Anyway,
So I apply the Badger® rose balm to my forehead (I usually have a pretty intense deep set line/wrinkle there), under my eyes, on my neck, and along my zebra stripes near my bum lol (sorry if that's tmi).
It says on the container, "For under eye, hand, and stretch mark care. Keeps your skin healthy as you change & evolve."
I mean, come on. You would totally try it just for that as well, right?
I have been on the hunt for a rose toner/water that is not an unnatural color or smells off or has ingredients I don't care for. So finding a replacement for my previous rose mist has been difficult. And I decided to do rose instead of going back to using Shiseido toners (which is my usual brand).
Why Rose?
It honestly has a lot of benefits for skin and I have heard people use it as a setting spray, hence why I was using my mist for dual purpose. Cosmetics, there is only so much leeway with what you can and can't put on your skin without compromising. Toner is really seeped into your skin. I wanted this step to be as pure as possible.
AGAIN- just stating my opinions.
After the balm (sorry for getting off track)
I then apply my Shiseido Ibuki eye cream under my eyes, sometimes at the corners of my lips, and if I just took out too much product, also apply to my neck where I bend the most using fingertips and gently pat in.
After that, I choose one of my moisturizers. I have Olay and Alba both with spf, and apply on face, neck, decollete, and down to shoulder blades.

It is suggested you wash after every use and they have their own brand of cleanser, but I usually use baby wash or a mix of castille soap and my tea tree face wash (yea Don't get that in your eyes, it burns like a mofo!).
Again- just my preferences.
When you stumble upon their site, there will be a variety for purchase.
I chose the black one purely because at Sephora they mentioned it generally lasts longer and I am #AllAboutThatLife.
So I wet my beautyblender® under running water and squish it a few times to make sure water is getting in there,
then take a paper towel and squish out the excess moisture.
(And I throw out the paper towel after using it.)
I let it hang out for a few minutes before applying liquid to the blender and stippling
(bouncing the beautyblender® on my face) with product.
In this case, I start with my Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer.
I use the beautyblender® to stiple the product onto my face.
I do one pump and apply dots to my forehead, cheeks, and chin.
Quickly go back and start stippling, all the while trying to go in circular motions.
(Again- this is just my way of doing things).
I wipe my hands and touch with a finger tip to see if it feels like I applied evenly.
If I feel I may have missed a spot or three I do either another full pump or less, blot and stiple again.
I understand some hourglass products explicitly say sponges are not recommended, but I do not remember that on this packaging.
Super PROs:
contains spf (always a plus for me)
the texture is actually really nice, smooth and you don't feel the weight of it on your face
Vegan Friendly
Not tested on Animals
Sulfate Free
Paraben Free
Oil Free
Phthalate free

Water Proof and 12h wear.
Originally I purchased this to cover up bruises (I was taking kickboxing at the time and there was a fashion show lol)
It's good for face and body.
The method is to dot it.
I dot close to my eyes,
but lower I usually gently swipe it along the bags, along the nose, and sometimes the corners of my lips.
Then I take what I like to refer to as a 'one time sponge' and pat it in.
(I have a lot of one time sponges left over bc I was always big on powder foundation, so I like to utilize them.)

THIS STUFF IS AMAZEBALLS.
I was half anticipating it to fail when I tested it out while #SUP #YOGA-ing for our friend Katrina's birthday
but it truly goes the distance.
We were sweating, and at some point I was in the water lol
So I rinse the beautyblender®, squish out the excess moisture with a paper towel.
(Throw out the paper towel after use - use a fresh one each time)
Let it hang out a bit and then pump, dot forehead/cheeks/chin, stiple
and if necessary apply pump more product, dot and stiple.
PROS:
Waterproof
Sweatproof
Humidity Proof
Oil Free
Con:
I have the non spf version (womp)

Highlight time!
for some, this is optional.
Sometimes I highlight, sometimes I don't.
So I take my Nars Yachiyo brush and apply Nars Albatross along my browbone and above where I would usually apply blush.
I like my Yachiyo brush, but yes maybe it's the product I use to wash it but the bristles aren't the most comfortable.
I rotate brushes so I don't always use this one. Maybe it was slightly uncomfy this whole time but I didn't care because it's just so darn pretty? Maybe.

I love this Paula Dorf Merengue
I am sure the color is discontinued.
I chose this when I was looking for a red eye shadow.
I will be using this on my eyes further down.
This shade is really pigmented so I have to use a VERY soft hand lol.
You can barely see it in the photo, but trust me- It's there!

To contour I am using TooFaced Chocolate Soleil.
If you have never used it it TRULY smells like chocolate. :)
Makes me smile during application.

I take an angled brush and to get in the cheek bones I feel for the bone and I apply in that hollow.
I feel this helps you not to make the fish face lol.
I am not good at applying to my left side (any makeup) so I gently get under the most prominent part of my cheek bone and start swiping and building across to the hollow and back up near my ear/temple.
Swipe across the hairline, get in near your temples towards your brows.
A general guideline is think of how the sun hits you.
Contouring is creating those shadows to enhance your silhouette.

Brows.
I am not using the brow cream today just bc I was going to dinner with a friend, and we were sitting indoors at night.
I figured the brow cream would be unnecessary.
This is my usual brow situation.
Lots of ladies use creams or special eye brow powder. I just utilize my eye shadow palette.
Obviously- hard core hit the pan.
So I follow along my brow and fill in and connect where sparse.
(It isn't full near the ends and kind of fades out in the middle lol)

Prime Time
for the eyes.
I love this Urban Decay primer. I like the actual shimmery champagne sheen you get.
That way if you just want to wear primer, it's cool. It's quite pretty.
As for their eye shadows, unless you use the primer (from my experience) there just isn't a lot of color payout.
Which is why I stick with my #MarcJacobs 206 #TheLolita palette.
So I apply a itty bitty amount to my fingertip and gently dab onto my lids.
I usually wait a bit before applying any eye shadow, just to make sure it isn't tacky/wet.

Told you I would be using it on my eyes.
So what I did here is I applied ABOVE the crease. I go right underneath the bone.

Next I took a dark shimmery brown I like and applied it IN the crease.
Then I applied a shimmery white in the corners and along the mobile lid under the crease.
I decided this was a good time to line lol
Shakey shakey shakey my Lorac Front Of THe Line Pro liquid liner
and apply.
I like the tip on this one. It isn't too long or to flexible. I don't deal well with the super flexible tips.
I still messed up, but it will soon be less noticible LOL

It makes me mad I can't find my Shiseido curler I bought in Japan.
I found one that was actually a realllly great fit for my eyes.
*lesigh*
So I have been using my Koji backup.
ps Shiseido has a BUNCH of different eyelash curlers in Japan, hence all the different refils you see on Amazon/Ebay.
I used to have a Shu Uemura one too... I hate loosing eyelash curlers.
So you get as close to your lashline as possible and I pump about 5+ times before releasing.

Even though I decided to skip the #waterproof eyebrow cream, I decided to wear the #MUF #MakeupForever Aqua Smoky Extravagant #WaterproofMascara.
I glide on a few coats, top and bottom and especially make a point of getting those hard to grab lashes in the inner and outer corners. You know what I'm talkin' about!

Then I take my #TooFaced #ChocolateSoleil and apply it along the bridge of my nose
(bc it is very wide and I want to limit how wide it appears lol)
I feel this step isn't as necessary for some but I try to not forget it bc my nose is wide!
(sometimes I forget! D:)

It is INSANE when I apply falsies
(but I honestly LOVE falsies)
I think I just applied a lip balm after since I was going to dinner and am not the cleanest eater lol
